Homeland Security Exercise

Homeland Security

Each community, city, county, region and state within our nation seeks to be prepared for all hazards through Homeland Security initiatives.  Critical components of preparation are training and exercises.

The Kentucky Fire Commission/State Fire Rescue Training accepted the responsibility to lead education and exercise efforts for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  These efforts are accomplished on behalf of and with the support of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.

For training, a member of the Kentucky Fire Commission staff, Tom Arnold, is assigned to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security in Frankfort.

For exercises, Fire Commission staff based out of the Fire Commission office in Versailles coordinates exercise and evaluation activities.

Tom Arnold also serves as Kentucky NIMS (National Incident Management Systems) compliance officer.

The Kentucky Fire Commission is proud to contribute to Kentucky's Homeland Security preparedness.
