Lexington, Ky. – More than 700 people are already expected to attend one of the longest continuously running fire schools in the nation, the 90th Annual Kentucky State Fire School (KYSFS), which returns to Lexington June 6-9 at the Lexington Convention Center.

“It’s an honor to continue to be a part of this special fire school legacy,” said Kentucky Firefighters Association (KFA) President Pat Thompson. “This event brings together some of the finest professionals from fire service and other closely related career fields and agencies.”

Registration is still open but is now only available on-site during the event, on Level I (ground floor) of the Lexington Convention Center beginning at 7 a.m. each day. For a single payment of $75, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of seminars and hands-on classes, which will remain open based only on availability. Those who pre-registered online should also check in at this location to confirm seat in classes and to receive other important information, including classroom locations. Classes and seminars are available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. throughout each day. Individuals can also sign up for a KFA membership during registration.

“In addition to the forward-thinking seminars and classes scheduled to take place during this fire school, we also have an innovative exhibitor and vendor showcase lined up,” said Kentucky Fire Commission State Fire Rescue Training Director Marc Rudder. “All of this really couldn’t happen each year without the help of the Kentucky State Fire School Committee and its statewide partners.”

The KYSFS Exhibitor and Vendor Showcase is the largest display of emergency service equipment, supplies and services in the Commonwealth, and will include everything from collectibles to fire apparatus equipment and more. The showcase will be open 4:30-8 p.m. Friday, June 7, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 8. For visitors attending the showcase only, admission is free.

Limited, free parking is available in Rupp Arena’s High Street Lot via Gate 2 only throughout the event.

KYSFS partners include: Kentucky Firefighters Association; Lexington Division of Fire and Emergency Services; Kentucky Fire Commission State Fire Rescue Training; Kentucky State Fire Marshal; Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services; and LG&E/KU.
