KY Fire Commission Recruit Academy Pilot Program

The Kentucky Fire Commission is excited to announce that the Pilot Program for the KY Fire Commission 400 Hour Recruit Academy has been scheduled and we are looking forward to conducting the class at the National Responder Preparedness Center (NRPC) in Greenville, KY.

Upon completion of the Academy, the recruit will have met all requirements set forth by the Kentucky Fire Commission to be eligible for a 400 hour level certification.

Highlights include:

  • KY Fire Commission will cover meals, lodging, textbooks, IFSAC Testing fees and all instructional fees.
  • T-Shirts will be given to students to wear each day. 
  • Class begins August 22nd and will be completed on Friday November 11th, 2022.
  • Accredited Certification Testing will be held the week of November 14-18, 2022.
  • Students will be required to utilize the lodging/meals at the Wendell H Ford Regional Training Center. The NRPC will handle all reservations. 
  • All students must be registered by their department Chief or Training Officer.
  • Weekly progress reports will be submitted to the sponsoring departments point of contact.
