End of Fiscal Year 2023 Compliance Notifications

Fire Chief and/or Training Officer:             

As the end of Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) approaches it is imperative that all fire departments review many areas of business that can affect your compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements within the Commonwealth.  Listed below are several areas of interest to all fire departments and their leadership.  Each of the listed items are the responsibility of the fire department to review and achieve compliance.

Fire Department Active Roster (State-Aid Eligible Fire Departments)

All active members of a fire department roster will be considered complete and accurate for compliance considerations as of midnight June 30, 2023.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS REQUIREMENT AFTER THE END-OF-YEAR REPORTS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED FOR REVIEW AND DETERMINATION OF COMPLIANCE.

 

Training Hours Entry (State-Aid Eligible Fire Departments)

ALL training SHALL be entered into the Kentucky Fire Information and Reporting Entry System (KYFIRES) by midnight on June 30, 2023 for credit to qualify a fire department to receive their Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) allotment.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS REQUIREMENT AFTER THE END-OF-YEAR REPORTS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED FOR REVIEW AND DETERMINATION OF COMPLIANCE.

Proof of Purchase Submissions (State-Aid Eligible Fire Departments)

All Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) State-Aid Allotment Eligible Fire Departments SHALL have submitted  required Proof-of-Purchase documentation from any previously received funds by midnight July 31, 2023 or made contact and arrangements with the Kentucky Fire Commission Office prior to the deadline. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS REQUIREMENT AFTER THE END-OF-YEAR REPORTS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED FOR REVIEW AND DETERMINATION OF COMPLIANCE.
