IFSAC Fire Officer IV - Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for the IFSAC Fire Officer IV course to be held October 17, October 24, October 30, November 7, November 13, November 20, December 4, December 5, December 18 and December 19. Class hours can be found in the attached class flyer. This class will be conducted on a virtual platform, with computer-based testing at your local SFRT district office anytime following December 4, 2024. Note that computer-based testing will not be available December 23, 2024 – January 3, 2025 as KCTCS and Fire Commission offices will be observing Institutional Closing. Students will have until December 30, 2024 to finalize, complete and submit the skill sheet task book.
You must meet all pre-requisites to register for the class:
· Must possess Fire Officer III Accredited Certification. Out-of-state- Certificates must obtain Kentucky Certificate of Reciprocity before being applied to meet the pre-requisite.
· Completion of ICS 300 & 400 is strongly recommended
Pre-registration is mandatory. To register for this class, please email ericka.cole@kctcs.edu by 4:00pm EST on September 30 2024. Students continuing from the August 2024 Fire Officer III class are given priority. Should available seats in the class fill prior to this date, a waiting list will be formed.

o FIREFIGHTER I & II, FIRE INSTRUCTOR I, AND FIRE OFFICER I, II, & III
Registration emails not containing the full required information listed above will not be processed.
STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING THEIR OWN TEXTBOOK (IFSTA CHIEF OFFICER – 4TH EDITION) ISBN 978-0-87939-644-2.
Students should review Chapters 7 – 10 prior to the first class session.
IFSTA Chief Officer 4th Edition Exam Prep (ISBN: 978-0-87939-645-9) or related app is strongly recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: This course requires a significant amount of work outside the class setting. Students should be sure to allow enough time during the stated timeframe of the course to meet these obligations. As a pilot course offering, some variability may exist and/or revisions made to future courses.
Please be considerate of others and do not sign-up for this class unless you are certain that you are able and also have the desire complete the entire class. Although it is a “free” class, occupying a spot then cancelling within a few days of the start of class, will prevent someone else from being able to take the class.
