FY2022 Fire Commission Personal Protective Equipment Grant

The Kentucky Fire Commission is pleased to announce that the application period for the FY2022 Personal Protective Equipment Grant is now open.  The Personal Protective Equipment Grant Program is established to provide grants of up to $10,000 to qualifying departments for the purchase of NFPA 1971, 2018 edition STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTING PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.  Items that are eligible to purchase include structural firefighting boots, gloves, hoods, helmets, coats, and pants.  This program has been developed to approach a problem that has long caused difficulties for fire departments across the Commonwealth.  The grant is designed to ensure that proper protective equipment can be purchased to protect those that protect us.

FY2022 PPE Grant Application

Approximately $1,000,000 will be available for this application period.

Kentucky Fire Commission recognized fire departments that are in good standing are eligible to apply.  The departments must have completed twenty hours of training with Kentucky State Fire Rescue Training during FY 21 or FY22 (including having the training scheduled through June 30, 2022).

Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the committee.  All applications MUST be received by the deadline of December 15, 2021 and all requested information MUST be provided. The attached application has fillable fields to ease in completion of the application. Applications may be returned via postal mail or email (preferred) to jeremy.rodgers@kctcs.edu.

Successful applicants will be notified by January 31, 2022.
