Hazardous Materials Certification Testing Changes

The Accredited Certification office will be transitioning to the 2022 NFPA 470 Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Standard for Responders on January 1, 2025. The transition will include updates to Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certification testing. If the testing process for either level has been started but not completed, please make every effort to complete both portions (skills and written) by December 20, 2024.

Beginning January 1, 2025, the written and skills for both levels must be completed under the 2022 NFPA 470 standard.
