Kentucky Division of Forestry 2025 Firewise USA Community Grant Program

The Kentucky Division of Forestry is currently accepting grant applications for the 2025 Kentucky Firewise USA™ Community Grant Program. Grants may be awarded for projects to reduce the wildfire risk and/or hazard in Kentucky’s wildland/urban interface communities. Grant priority will be given based on community-at-risk level, establishment of a local Firewise USA™ Community, and type of project submitted.

Grants will be awarded from a minimum of $1,000.00 to a maximum of $10,000.00 and administered through an 80/20 reimbursement system. Applicants will carry out grant projects and submit invoices to the Kentucky Division of Forestry that document the total program cost.

The grant information package includes information on eligible equipment, supplies, and projects, application forms, and proposal instructions.

Before any project begins, the applicant and the Kentucky Division of Forestry must sign a Memorandum of Agreement. The Division will email an official project start letter to awarded applicants. The applicant is then required to adhere to the project approved in its application.

Grant applications must be emailed to KDFGrants.Firewise@ky.gov and must be received by 4:30 P.M. EDT on May 15, 2024. No faxed or mailed applications will be accepted.
