IAFF Peer Support Training April 2025
The Fire Commission has a few open spots in the upcoming IAFF Peer Suppor Training Class April 22 & 23, 2025 in Burlington. Learn and practice skills to effectively become a peer counselor and establish your own peer support team.
This program is designed specifically for firefighters, EMS providers, dispatchers, chaplains, retirees and behavioral health specialists - and any member of the fire service interested in supporting brothers and sisters during tough times.
This peer led training will teach you how to:
- Develop a Peer Team for your department
- Approach a brother or sister of concern
- Establish trust and confidentiality
- Determine whether a crisis is developing
- Refer the person to available resources

You do not have to be an IAFF member to participate.
Registration Tips
Pre-registration is required for all students. Students cannot register on behalf
of another student
Students will need their IAFF username/ password to register
If a student has forgotten their IAFF username/ password, they should follow the prompts
to retrieve their forgotten credentials
If an IAFF member or non-member has never established an account, they should follow
the prompts on the log in screen to do so
