IAFF Peer Support Training April 2026
The Kentucky Fire Commission is pleased to sponsor an IAFF-led Peer Support Training class later this year in Bardstown. Learn how to effectively become a peer counselor and establish your own peer support team. This training is free of charge. Please visit the registration link below to reserve your spot. There are a limited amount of seats.
This program is designed specifically for firefighters, EMS providers, dispatchers, chaplains, retirees and behavioral health specialists - and any member of the fire service interested in supporting brothers and sisters during tough times. You do not have to be a member of the IAFF to participate.
Peer-led training will teach you how to:
- Develop a Peer Team for your department
- Approach a brother or sister of concern
- Establish trust and confidentiality
- Determine whether a crisis is developing
- Refer the person to available resources

Registration Tips
- Pre-registration is required for all students. Students cannot register on behalf of another student
- Students will need their IAFF username/ password to register
- If a student has forgotten their IAFF username/ password, they should follow the prompts to retrieve their forgotten credentials
- If an IAFF member or non-member has never established an account, they should follow
the prompts on the log in screen to do so
