The Fire Commission office in Paris is closed Monday, January 26, 2026 due to inclement weather. 

VILT Class Rules

To make the Virtual Instructor-Led Training Class (VILT) a professional experience for everyone, participants shall adhere to the following VILT class rules:

  • All participants must remain visible on camera throughout the duration of the class; exceptions include leaving momentarily to use the restroom, take a phone call, or handle a personal matter in which the student is expected to return to the camera within 3-4 minutes
  • Students are expected to devote their attention to the instructor, same as if the class were held in person
  • Appropriate classroom behavior is expected
  • Absolutely no operation of a motor vehicle by the student (grounds for automatic dismissal, no questions asked)
  • Participants may not be actively rendering patient care, be engaged on a fire run, or be engaged in other forms of in-person training during the class
  • All background noises or distractions must be eliminated
  • No profanity, inappropriate, offensive or threatening language, backgrounds, clothing or images will be tolerated
  • Disruptive behavior by any participants will not be tolerated
  • Appropriate attire is required; shirts must be worn
  • Participants must be in an upright position; no lying down during class is permitted
  • No consumption of alcoholic beverages or use of illegal substances is permitted during class
  • All students seeking training hours must be on the roster at the conclusion of the class; roll will be called and students must verify their attendance during that time
  • Participants who must must exit the class before the final roll call shall notify the proctor who is leaving and the time of departure
  • Students may only participate in one VILT class at a time

Participants who do not adhere to any of these rules will be dismissed from class, with the inability to return to the training session.
