Firefighter (part-time) - Shelbyville Fire Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time hourly professional fire and rescue position who reports to the fire captain and who are scheduled on a monthly and “as needed” basis and may (if available) respond on larger incidents or special events. NEW! FIre Chief - City of Hopkinsville. The Fire Chief is responsible for administering the overall operational functions of the Hopkinsville Fire Department and Hopkinsville/Christian County Emergency Ambulance Service.  Develop department policies/procedures and an organizational structure in accordance with all applicable federal, state, & local laws, guidelines and/or restrictions.  Must be familiar with professional standards including, but not limited to, IFSTA, NFPA, OSHA, and NIOSH. Requires a high school diploma or GED; minimum of eleven (11) cumulative years as a paid professional firefighter, firefighter/EMT or firefighter/paramedic with a paid municipal fire department.  Must have at least three (3) years of the eleven (11) cumulative years as a comparable paid professional fire captain or above position with a paid municipal fire department. Must possess and maintain evidence certification as a Firefighter in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be Kentucky State Certified Level I Fire Instructor.
