SFRT Adjunct Instructor Opportunities

State Fire Rescue Training is seeking to build a pool of qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Adjunct Instructor. These applicants will be considered to fill current instructor vacancies as well as future instructor vacancies.

Our cadre of world-class instructors bring years of real-world experience and provide students with the latest information in firefighting. SFRT instructors believe in "Learning by Doing", building upon a sound foundation of knowledge acquired in the classroom and while promoting best practices during training. If these principles align with your teaching methods, we invite you to submit an application to join our team.

Minimum requirements to become an instructor for SFRT include:

·         Kentucky Firefighter (Fire Commission certified)

·         Level I Instructor Credential (Fire Commission certified)

·         IFSAC Accredited Firefighter I

·         IFSAC Accredited Firefighter II

·         Other certifications based on classes to be delivered

Adjunct instructors are assigned to a District Office but are able to deliver programs anywhere in the Commonwealth.

Anyone interested in applying to be an instructor with SFRT should contact the District Coordinator serving their county for an application. Contact information can be found on the Fire Commission’s website under the State Fire Rescue Training page’s District Offices section:

https://kyfirecommission.kctcs.edu/state_fire_rescue_training/district-offices.aspx

Note that submitting an application indicates an intent of interest to become an adjunct instructor with SFRT and is not a guarantee of employment. An offer for the applicant to submit a full application packet will be extended upon employment needs of the individual SFRT District Office.

We look forward to growing our instructional team as we strive to ensure that fire training in Kentucky remains among the top in the nation.
