In observance of Juneteenth, Fire Commission offices will be closed Thursday, June 19, 2025. We will reopen for business Friday, June 20, 2025.

Hepatitis Vaccinations

Hepatitis vaccinations are a voluntary service made available to every firefighter throughout Kentucky. The Kentucky Fire Commission has an agreement with the Department for Public Health, whereby local health departments who administer Hepatitis A & B vaccines to firefighters bill the Fire Commission directly for the purchased cost of the vaccines plus an administration fee.

Persons interested in this service must be an active firefighter on a department roster on the date the vaccine is provided in order for the Fire Commission to make payment to the health department. Firefighters must present a completed Hepatitis A & B Voucher to the health department at each of the three vaccinations in the series. The voucher is required for the Fire Commission to process payment; if a voucher is not presented, and the vaccine is administered, the fire department will be responsible for payment of that does.

The Kentucky Fire Commission does not reimburse for the Hepatitis A or B titer test or the booster shot.

Questions regarding the Hepatitis Vaccination Program should be directed via email to bonita.oldham@kctcs.edu or via telephone at (859) 256-3616.
